Comments:

I'm writing a family biography of the Carroll family of Maryland (descendants of Charles Carroll of Carrollton, Signer of the Declaration of Independence) during the 19th century. Most of it is Civil War history, since they sided with the Confederacy--several were spies and two of the Signer's great-grandsons fought with the Army of Northern Virginia with JEB Stuart and Turner Ashby, the great cavalry captains.
